Homemade Hot Cocoa Mix
(low fat / low sodium)
Ingredients
5 parts nonfat dry milk
2 parts sugar
1 part cocoa
1 part vanilla creamer (or plain creamer and add a drop or 2 of vanilla
extract after you make cocoa water in—you can also use peppermint extract).
Directions
One mug at a time:
1 part = 1 teaspoon. Put ingredients in mug and mix them. Pour in hot water
and stir.
To have it on hand:
1 part = 1/4 cup. Mix the
ingredients well and place into container with a tight-fitting lid. Store in
a dry place. To make cocoa, place 3 tablespoons of mix in mug and pour in
hot water. Stir.
Make with regular milk
instead:
Fill mug with
milk (skim is fine). Add 2 tsp of sugar, 1 tsp of cocoa and 1 tsp of vanilla
creamer. Nuke in microwave about a minute, until warm. Stir.
Makes 4 to 6 servings.
